Inflatable Cube to Climb in

Here at Upward Enterprises, we encourage our clients to climb. At the ropes course, we have elements such as the Static Tower and Climbing Wall as part of our team building course. On portable team events like at Smokey Glen Farm, we have a climbing wall for rent.

Check out this interesting massive cube inflatable jungle gym. A complex 3-D grid of string allows one to climb in an environment that visually looks like your floating in the air. Indoor Team Building

Cold weather doesn't stop team building opportunities here at Upward Enterprises. We can have just as much fun indoors team building at your facility or ours located at the Claggett Center. Anyone up for a fun ice breaker of multi-player thumb wrestling?

Team Building Outside the Office

In most all business across the country, be white collar or blue collar, the push has been increasing worker productivity. Companies downsize and work intensifies for those still working there. And employers, focused on competition, might ignore the well-being of their employees. How much more can workers give before burnout will become overwhelming? Burnout can set in. Workers will disconnect from the group. Sick days will be used. As a manager, these should be warning signs that your biggest asset, your workers, are needing a break.

Maybe its time for an employee mental health day outside the workplace.

When a corporate group comes to Upward Enterprises for team building I always suggest they get away from the office and come to the ropes challenge course. Indoor table top team building has its benefits too but just getting away to a different environment changes perspectives, de-stresses employees and lets the group open up to connecting and trusting one another again. Strong teams are not built just at work alone. Take the trust building exercise "Leap of Faith" we do on the course. In the 20 years I have been teaching team building, I have found this activity to be the most empowering in opening the group up to think as a team again.

Holiday Inn partnership with UEI

I met with the sales team from the Holiday Inn Frederick Conference Center last week and I am really excited about the potential to work together in a partnership. They have great facilities at their Frederick site and I promised to take them to the course and run a small team of their managers through some of the activities for some team bonding of their staff. Our course is less than 10 minutes down the road from the Conference Center making this partnership a perfect match for corporate clients who book the Holiday Inn to get outside for a little while and experience the power of UEI's team building exercises.

Success at evening retreat

As the President of Upward Enterprises Inc I was asked to speak at a recent retreat and I decided to work on a presentation of paperwork activities that could be delivered to 50 or so adults while in a small closed room. Most of the participants were seated and moving around was not an option due to lack of room and some disabilities. The paperwork activities are not something we do everyday at UEI but with the experience we have and the adaptability of our team building programs we pulled off a remarkably successful evening. We have had comments and feedback from the group that was transferred in to the following days ropes course activities that make being involved in this industry worth while.

On a different note, we at Upward Enterprises Inc. reacted to some feedback from our staff, about the management of the zip lines that we operate. One observation last year was the ability to adjust the lanyard that we use for the tether to the right length for clients that were a little on the heavy side. We were using the Omni slings that you could clip into wherever you thought it would work but that was still a bit of a guessing game. We researched and came up with an adjustable prussic on a multi line lanyard that is calibrated to a certain weight. We are intending to test this and I will let you all know the results.
